The deal
You pay once for a licence to use KidQuest Studio (the "front end") and for any upgrade you buy. Each purchase is for one person, with one account, unless the product says otherwise (the Agency upgrade adds seats). Your licence does not expire. We will run the service for at least two years from your purchase and, if we ever shut it down, we will give you at least 90 days' notice to download your files.
What you may do with the books
Every book, cover and file you make with the app is yours. You may sell them (for example on Etsy or Amazon KDP), give them away, print them for a class, or use them in your own products. You may not sell or share access to the app itself, resell the app's built-in artwork or story templates on their own, or use the app to make content that is illegal or harmful to children.
What you must do before you publish
Read the book. The app checks every puzzle answer by code, but you are the publisher: check the story, the grade level and your marketplace's rules before you list a book. If you add AI pictures or AI-written stories (ELITE upgrade), disclose that on the marketplace as its rules require.
Technical requirements
The app runs in a current web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari from the last two years) on any computer with an internet connection. Nothing is installed. PDF files open in any PDF viewer and print on any printer; for paperback sales, follow the printer's or KDP's own file checks.
Changes, support and liability
We fix bugs and add features over time; a feature may change, but a product you paid for keeps doing what its sales page said. Support is by email at leo@leosterling.net; we answer within three working days. If something does not work as described, we fix it or refund you (see the refund policy). Beyond that, our liability is limited to the price you paid, as far as the law allows. For consumers in the EU and UK, your statutory rights (including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content) are not affected by these terms.
